BlazeSports™ Clubs of America
The U.S. Disabled Athletes Fund, Inc. (USDAF) and the National Recreation & Park Association (NRPA) has launched a national community-based sports program for people with physical disabilities called BlazeSports™ Clubs of America.
M-NASR (Maine-Niles Association of Special Recreation) is currently among nine agencies across the country named as BlazeSports Clubs of America charter members. This program is modeled after the pilot program developed in the State of Georgia by USDAF following the 1996 Atlanta Paralympic Games.

BlazeSports™ provides opportunities for children (ages seven and older) and adults with physical disabilities to experience the benefits of participating in organized adaptive sports at the “grass roots” level. The programs and services provided by the BlazeSports™ Clubs are designed to help athletes learn and improve their skills in adaptive sports and enhance fitness, strength, self-confidence and lifestyle. For more information about M-NASR’s BlazeSports™ opportunities, please contact M-NASR at 847/966-5522 or email us.
