The Liponi Foundation

The Liponi Foundation for Special Recreation was formed in 1990 to facilitate participation by children and adults with disabilities in recreation programs. The Foundation was named after the late Sam Liponi, whose family, since 1985, has very generously donated to M-NASR.
The Liponi Foundation for Special Recreation is a not-for-profit, tax exempt Foundation. The mission of the Foundation is to provide M-NASR with accessible vehicles, scholarship assistance for some of our residents and some program equipment. The Foundation also grants support for other needs of the Association when possible.
For additional information on the Liponi Foundation, volunteering or future events, please contact Stella LiPomi at 847/966-5522 ext. 3015. You may email her by clicking here and selecting her name from the contact list.
Your can make a difference
Our member park district contributions and participant registration fees provide operating revenue for the core of our therapeutic recreation programs. To guarantee that residents with unique needs truly have access to M-NASR programs, we seek donations. Monetary gifts help fund two support services on which many of our users rely. These services are financial aid service for residents proving they live on incomes near or below the federal poverty line and our accessible transportation service. One-third of our participants routinely need the simple service of a ride to get to M-NASR activities. Without this transportation service, these participants would not be able to be a part of our programs.
M-NASR is extremely thankful for major support provided by the Liponi Foundation. Yet, their gifts alone cannot fulfill our need for private support. Many other foundations, governmental units, companies and individuals care about our mission and support it with donations each year. Please be a part of these caring folks by making a donation to M-NASR. For additional information on how you can help M-NASR, please contact Judy Ruemmele at (847) 966-5522 ext. 3019. - Make a donation – Any level of support from you truly does make a difference. Each of us doing our small part is what it takes to maintain M-NASR programs that are integral to the quality of life of our participants.
- Event involvement – Individuals, groups and corporations may select fundraising events to support through sponsorship, participation, volunteerism, promotion to employees, and by providing raffle prize donations.
- Corporate donations – Many corporations help support their community through donations of money or product, or by providing volunteers. If your company or employer has community-relations activities, please contact M-NASR’s development officer to discuss how we might work toward a form of support that best fits your interests.
- Civic-group support – If you belong to or know of a civic group that supports community programs, please introduce them to M-NASR.
- Foundation grants – M-NASR continually seeks support from private foundations. These endeavors generate critical dollars to help sustain our services. If you have information that would help these efforts, please share your thoughts with our development officer or any staff member.
- Support Special Events – M-NASR sponsors several special events during the year and would love to have you support them. Please look for our 5K Run/Walk held in conjunction with Morton Grove Park District. This event is usually held in mid-April. Be a sponsor of our Annual Recognition Night where we acknowledge our participants, their families and donors. Contact Judy Ruemmele for more information. Of course, we always approach the holidays with gratitude and hope that M-NASR supporters will give generously to our annual holiday appeal. Any support you give to M-NASR goes a long way to help our participants enjoy a productive leisure lifestyle.
If you have information that would help these efforts, please share your thoughts with us.
